Dr. Angela Jones is an educator, literacy specialist, and consultant with more than 25 years of experience supporting students and educators. She currently serves as a Literacy Coach with Georgia’s Metropolitan Regional Educational Service Agency (Metro RESA) and is a National LETRS® Facilitator. Throughout her career, she has worked as a classroom teacher, ELA department chair, reading coach, literacy specialist, and intervention tutor.

Dr. Jones specializes in reading comprehension, structured literacy, and translating the science of reading and the science of learning into practical classroom instruction. She also serves as a Research-Practice Partnership Advisor for ReadWorks and is the author of the article, “Rethinking the Think-Aloud Strategy: Helping Students Develop a Coherent Mental Model of the Text,” published in the Spring 2026 issue of FOCUS Newsletter.

Known for her thoughtful and collaborative approach, Dr. Jones has designed and facilitated professional learning for schools, districts, and regional organizations. She partners with educators, families, and students to provide evidence-based literacy support that strengthens reading, writing, and comprehension. Whether working one-on-one with struggling readers or supporting teams of educators, her goal is to help learners become confident, capable, and engaged readers.
